RESENTMENT: THE MOST EXPENSIVE WORD IN THE WORKPLACE
What exactly is resentment?
Picture a jar. Every time someone wrongs you, every slight, every disappointment – you toss a pebble in. Over time, that jar gets so heavy you can barely carry it. That's resentment.
It's a toxic mix of emotions all tied to feeling unfairly treated. The key thing is, you likely didn't speak up about it at the time it first happened. Now, you can't shake the feeling, and it bleeds into situations that have nothing to do with the original hurt.
Resentment rears its ugly head anywhere there are humans in relationships. It leads to conflict, decrease in productivity, and mistrust, among other unsavory outcomes. But with awareness and a framework for conversation, successfully managing resentment is straightforward (yet admittedly not always easy).
Interested in a life based on better, not bitter? Change starts with knowing yourself and the brain patterns that show up to sabotage you. This 5-minute assessment will show you what's getting in your way.

MANAGING ANGER, RESENTMENT AND FRUSTRATION ON YOUR TEAM
Writing for the Harvard Business Review, executive coach Nihar Chhaya notes, "Many studies show that among all of life’s pressures, job stress is by far the most significant source. In addition, recent research from Gallup reported that daily rates of anger, stress, worry, and sadness among American workers have risen over the past decade."

UPCOMING EVENTS
In February, I presented Living Your Values to a live audience at ChillOut in Fargo, ND.
This 3-hour values excavation showed participants how to unearth unconscious values that drive our lives.
On Saturday, April 27th at 12pm ET, I'll lead an online version of the workshop.
We'll ditch the scripts, the masks, and the "shoulds." We'll explore the mind and listen to the body's wisdom. Together, we'll uncover the 7 core values that define you, the ones that make your heart sing.
The world whispers "shoulds" in your ear. Society tells you what success looks like. But somewhere along the way, you lost track of your song. The one your soul hums, the one that makes you come alive. Come find it again.

Until May,
Warmly,
Jen
